Year 5 team

Wonderful words and illustration by Kimberley D

Year 5 home learning. Please be aware that it is NOT NECESSARY for you to print the learning out for your child. Please use the links and record learning in the books provided for them. Thanks, Mrs Reeder.

What an amazing start to a new, and very different, term! ⭐

Watch this space! Miss Burell will be adding 'Thrive' based activities that you and the whole family can get involved with. They will be added to the website each Monday. Have fun with it and I look forward to seeing and hearing about your efforts.

As school is closing due to covid-19, we have prepared resources, planning and activities so that your child can continue to learn at home. Click on the links above to access ideas for you to use over the coming weeks. We will update this regularly as necessary.

I am always available to be contacted via Class Dojo or email so please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions.

Keep safe everyone and keep smiling 🙂

Mrs Reeder

Welcome to Year 5

Year 5 is a very exciting year and also the first taste of upper key stage 2 for the children. This will involve the children being faced with greater responsibilities and independence. It is a very busy year that will involve numerous challenges and exciting trips and activities. The children must be prepared and organised from the beginning in order to fully thrive and achieve their best.

We will continually strive to ensure that the children are faced with a learning environment in which they feel secure and able to take measured risks in order to achieve their full potential. The curriculum that we offer will be very creative, with many opportunities for children to use ICT and conduct their own research.  Each term we will send home a Topic Web to let you know what we are learning about and what opportunities are being provided for the children.

You can find out about what your child is doing by also visiting our class dojo page. Here we like to upload and share examples of learning opportunities, trip and exciting new experiences that we have encountered. It is also a fantastic platform for you to communicate with members of staff if you have any questions or concerns.
